Community Health Nursing Department January 2026 SAIMS College of Nursing

The Community Health Nursing Department of SAIMS College of Nursing conducted a meaningful field based learning activity in January 2026 where BSc Nursing 7th semester students actively participated in a role play on Leprosy awareness programme at Paliya The activity was aimed at creating awareness among the general public reducing fear myths and social stigma associated with Leprosy and promoting positive health seeking behaviour through effective community interaction The programme was guided by Dr Reshmi Siby Principal and successfully organized under the leadership of Prof Dr Amita Joseph HOD Community Health Nursing Department with the support of Mrs Megha Kurmi Associate Professor Mrs Pooja Chouhan Assistant Professor and Mr Lucky BSc Tutor Through this practical exposure students gained valuable knowledge improved communication skills and developed a deeper understanding of community health issues thereby strengthening their role as future healthcare professionals committed to public health awareness and social responsibility
