Sri Aurobindo University Raises Awareness on Breast Cancer and Early Detection

In collaboration with SAIMS College of Nursing, Sri Aurobindo University organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Day. The event sought to shed light on a global health problem that women continue to experience. Early detection and health services seeking behaviors can play an important role in controlling this issue.

This program focused on raising awareness about breast cancer. The main goal of this initiative was to inform the participants about the benefits of early screenings and how to recognize early signs and symptoms. Students and other members of the academic community can share what they learn about health through this event and provide information to their friends and families.

The program was held on October 28, 2026, and embodied the broader values of health and learning that Sri Aurobindo University encourages. Early diagnosis of breast cancer is possible, and many people have effective management options when it comes to the disease, however, there are many barriers to early diagnosis, such as awareness and appropriate practices that individuals should follow.

There are many resources out there for early breast cancer detection, including diagnostic tools, services and practices.

For nursing students programmes like this give experience outside of the classroom. It gives future healthcare professionals an understanding that having awareness, communication and patient education is key. This programme has shown that when dealing with health issues we need to maintain empathy, clarity and a high level of responsibility.

Sri Aurobindo University has ongoing projects which aim to connect the classroom to the health sector. They aim to develop a society that is more health-conscious with increased awareness and healthy behaviours.
