Orientation Programme Welcomes First-Year BDS Students at Sri Aurobindo College of Dentistry
Beginning a course marks a significant shift in a student's academic journey. At Sri Aurobindo College of Dentistry in Indore an Orientation Programme was held on 19 October 2026 for the BDS students in the 2026–27 batch. The programme helped these BDS students understand the setting of the rules of the institution and the support systems that will be available as they start their path in dental education.
The programme introduced students to aspects of campus life helping students become familiar with expectations and responsibilities of professional education. Information on student welfare measures, institutional rules and course guidelines was shared, giving students insight into students’ academic journey and daily engagement with the institution.
The session also covered hostel regulations, student grievance redressal mechanisms, mentor mentee support and anti ragging measures. These discussions were aimed at ensuring students are aware of the resources and channels to students whenever students need guidance, support or assistance during students studies.
Beyond providing information the orientation gave first year students a chance to step into their new academic environment with confidence and awareness. Such programmes play a role in helping students settle into a professional learning culture while promoting discipline, mutual respect and responsible participation, in campus life.
As a constituent of Sri Aurobindo University, the programme reflects the institution continued focus on creating a learning environment where students can grow academically while also feeling supported, secure and valued. The initiative marked a meaningful beginning for the new BDS batch as they take their first steps towards a rewarding career in dentistry.
