Orientation Program Held for New Students at Sri Aurobindo Medical College

While there are thousands of professions in the world, only doctors are accorded the status of the Divine. This is because it is doctors who kindle a ray of hope in the lives of patients groaning in pain through their service to humanity, they bring a healthy smile to faces previously marked by tears and distress. Setting aside their own comfort, they fulfill the noble vow of preserving life and save countless human beings within the span of a single lifetime. Thus, doctors embody the great mission of serving humanity. Dr. Jayashree Tapadia, Dean (Student Welfare), shared these thoughts on Monday morning during the orientation program for first-year students at Sri Aurobindo Medical College.

She told the new students that they were lucky to start work in this area. She also said the college tries hard to help students grow in many ways. Students can follow their interests too, not just their classes. College Studies Remain Essential Even in the AI Era.

Dr. R. R. Vavre, the Dean of the Medical College, said classroom teaching, textbook study, and practical work still count. He added that this is true even though AI is used in many places. In his view, students pick up core skills faster when they learn within the college. He also mentioned learning through hands on practice, professional behavior, and speaking well with patients.

Dr. Kavitarati Dharwadkar spoke about how students should follow daily discipline. She stressed being on time, obeying rules, staying truthful, and keeping steady routines.Dr. Rupa Chhaparwal talked about hostel life. She said students should stay in the hostel and follow the basic rules there. Dr. Manjunath said a doctor should start by being a good person.

The doctor white coat, a symbol of trust and the safeguarding of health in society, represents their spirit of sacrifice, dedication, and compassion. A doctor work is not limited merely to medical treatment it is also deeply connected to human empathy.
