Sri Aurobindo College of Nursing Organizes Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Session on World Head and Neck Cancer Day

On the occasion of World Head and Neck Cancer Day Sri Aurobindo College of Nursing organized an awareness session to educate nursing students and faculty members on Oral Cancer Prevention, Early Detection and Substance Abuse Control.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Dilip Kumar Acharya National Chairman IMA Cancer Prevention and Tobacco Control Committee and Director Department of Preventive Oncology Sri Aurobindo Medical College. During the session, he highlighted the major causes and risk factors of oral cancer, emphasizing the harmful effects of tobacco and alcohol consumption. He also explained the importance of identifying precancerous lesions at an early stage and shared practical strategies for tobacco cessation and cancer prevention.
The program began with the introduction of the guest speaker by Dr. Tulsi Shringi followed by a welcome address from Dr. Reshmi Sibi, Principal Sri Aurobindo College of Nursing. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Mansi Choudhary Head Department of Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing who also presented a memento to the guest speaker.
As part of the event Dr. Dilip Kumar Acharya and Dr. Mansi Choudhary administered the Nasha Mukt Madhya Pradesh pledge to students and faculty members, supporting the anti-addiction initiative of the Indore Police Commissionerate. The session concluded with a collective commitment to promote cancer awareness, encourage healthy lifestyles and contribute towards a tobacco and drug free society.
