SAIMS Introduces Advanced Neuro Navigation for Brain Surgery
Sri Aurobindo Medical College and Post Graduate Institute SAIMS Indore has become the first medical college in Madhya Pradesh to offer precision brain surgery using an Advanced Neuro Navigation System . This cutting edge computer guided technology functions like a GPS enabling neurosurgeons to accurately locate brain tumors and critical structures resulting in safer and more precise surgeries.
The Neuro Navigation System was inaugurated by Dr. Vinod Bhandari, Founder Chairman, Sri Aurobindo Group of Institutions who shared that 15 successful brain surgeries have already been performed using this technology. He also highlighted that advanced brain surgeries are available under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme reducing the financial burden on eligible patients.
Dr. Mahak Bhandari Managing Director SAIMS and Pro Chancellor Sri Aurobindo University said that the institution has been running its M.Ch. Neurosurgery Program since 2011. The new technology will enhance the treatment of brain tumors, complex spine disorders brain hemorrhages, and other neurological conditions by providing real-time navigation and greater surgical precision.
Dr. Raghavan Iyengar Head Department of Neurosurgery emphasized that the system helps preserve healthy brain tissue minimizes surgical risks and supports faster patient recovery. The Department of Neurosurgery at SAIMS regularly performs advanced procedures including brain and spine trauma surgery brain and spine tumor surgery vascular endoscopic intraventricular and minimally invasive neurosurgery.
With the introduction of this advanced technology, SAIMS continues to set new benchmarks in neurological care by providing world-class treatment with enhanced safety, precision, and accessibility.
