World No Tobacco Day Observed with Awareness Campaign and Poster Competition at SAIMS
On 30th May World No Tobacco Day the Department of Preventive Oncology Department of Community Medicine Department of Public Health Dentistry of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences SAIMS jointly organized an Exhibition and Poster Competition at the OPD Registration Block of Sri Aurobindo Hospital Indore.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Vinod Bhandari Founder Chairman SAU. The exhibition and poster competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from interns and students who creatively presented impactful posters highlighting the dangers of tobacco use and the importance of prevention and cessation.
The posters were evaluated by Dr. Dilip Kumar Acharya, Director Department of Preventive Oncology and Dr. Ajeet Deshpande Head Department of Community Medicine . The judges appreciated the innovative efforts of the interns and commended their role in spreading awareness through creative and informative presentations.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Anand Mishra Registrar Sri Aurobindo University Dr. Shrikant Reddy Head Department of Psychiatry Dr. Shantanu Sontake Department of Public Health Dentistry and Dr. Mansi Choudhary Professor Nursing College along with faculty members, students, healthcare professionals, and members of the public.
The exhibition served as an effective platform for community engagement and health education, reinforcing the message that awareness is the first step toward prevention. Through collaborative efforts and active participation, the program successfully highlighted the importance of tobacco cessation and the need to build a healthier tobacco free society.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to promote healthy lifestyle choices and support ongoing efforts aimed at reducing the burden of tobacco-related diseases.
