SAIMS Observes World No Tobacco Day with an Impactful Nukkad Natak

On 1st June 2026 World No Tobacco Day the Department of Community Medicine Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences SAU organized an engaging and informative Nukkad to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and promote a healthier tobacco-free lifestyle.
The street play effectively highlighted the serious health risks associated with tobacco use, including cancer, respiratory diseases, cardiovascular disorders, and other life threatening conditions. Through powerful performances and relatable real life scenarios, the participants conveyed a strong message on the importance of quitting tobacco and adopting healthy habits.
The awareness initiative attracted the attention of patients attendants students faculty members and the general public encouraging meaningful discussions on tobacco prevention and cessation. The program aimed to educate the community about the social economic and health related consequences of tobacco use while motivating individuals to make informed choices for their well being.
Speaking on the occasion, faculty members from the Department of Community Medicine emphasized the need for collective efforts in creating awareness and supporting tobacco cessation initiatives to build a healthier society.
