Dr. Mohit Bhandari Achieves Global Surgical Milestoneat RACS 2026
It is a moment of great pride for Sri Aurobindo University as Dr. Mohit Bhandari marked a significant achievement in global surgical innovation at the RACS Annual Scientific Congress 2026 held from April 30th to May 3rd in Perth Australia.
The congress brought together leading surgeons researchers and innovators from around the world focusing on advancing healthcare through collaboration and technology.
At this prestigious platform Dr. Mohit Bhandari became the first international surgeon to receive a license to operate in Australia during a scientific conference. He further created history by successfully performing Australias first ever Live Tele robotic bariatric surgery. Operating remotely from the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, he conducted the procedure on a patient in Indore India.
This milestone demonstrated the immense potential of telerobotic systems in overcoming geographical barriers and delivering expert surgical care across continents. The procedure was performed using the advanced SSI Mantra robotic platform ensuring precision safety and real time responsiveness.
