Dr Mahak Bhandari Performs First Historic Robotic Surgeries in Shivpuri on 16th March 2026

A historic milestone was achieved in Shivpuri with the successful performance of robotic surgery for the first time at Shrimant Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Medical College and Hospital. Renowned robotic and laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Mahak Bhandari conducted three advanced procedures including two robotic hernia repairs and one robotic gallbladder surgery during the First CME on Robotic Hernia and Gallbladder Stone with live surgical demonstration. Honorable Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also witnessed the live robotic surgery inside the operation theatre. The academic event was jointly organized by Sri Aurobindo University and the host institution on 16 March 2026 marking a significant step towards advancing surgical education and modern healthcare facilities in emerging medical institutions. The surgeries were transmitted live from the operation theatre to the lecture theatre where more than 200 medical students and faculty members observed and gained exposure to advanced robotic surgical techniques. The procedures were performed using an Indian made robotic surgical system developed by SS Innovations reflecting India’s growing strength in surgical technology.
