India is witnessing the inception of the health revolution through Surgeons on Wheels

It is a beautiful coincidence that the 11-days Ganesh Festival begins tomorrow, and today we are seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha for the 'Surgeons on Wheels' equipped with the most modern technology in the world.
'Surgeons on Wheels'* is a wonderful gift that our country offers to the entire medical world, capable of bringing revolutionary changes in the medical field.Under this concept, surgeons will perform operations while sitting at a robotic console inside a moving bus, while the patient will be in the hospital's operation theater. This is not a fantasy, but a historical reality created by the 'Made in India' robot - SSI Mantra and Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAMS) partnership.
Why should surgeons be on wheels?
In the medical field, there are many situations where a surgeon on wheels can prove to be a life-saving shield.

1. Stroke case in a village - The patient is in the village hospital, but the neurosurgeon is only available in the city. A bus can immediately reach the village and perform live robotic surgery. 2. Accident in remote areas - In mountainous regions or disaster areas (earthquake, flood, tsunami), the bus can serve as a means for the surgeon to perform surgery on the spot. 3. Rare specialist skill set - Some specialists (like those performing complex robotic cancer surgeries) are not available in every city. The network of buses can extend this service to every small town. 4. Multi-city hospital network - The bus can be stationed in every city of a hospital group. Surgeons can operate on patients from anywhere while on the move. 5. Emergency situation in war or border - When soldiers are injured at the border, instead of bringing them to the hospital, the bus can deliver the surgeon's skills right there. 6. Pandemic-like situations – where it is difficult for doctors to travel, remote operations will be possible only with buses. 7. Airplane or train accidents – only buses can reach the site immediately and provide robotic surgery facilities. 8. Situations where the patient cannot move – if a serious ICU patient cannot be shifted to the city, the bus can take the surgeon to the hospital. 9. Transplant emergencies – liver/kidney donor in one place, patient in another. The surgeon can operate directly at the donor site via the bus. 10. Inter-city robotic consultation – the bus can connect with different hospital networks while in motion and can perform back-to-back operations. (In many such situations, 'Surgeon on Wheels' can become a future necessity and a lifesaver for patients.)

The collaboration between SAMS and SSI Mantra has made this possible. This gives a new direction to India’s Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.” Due to the facility of Surgeons on Wheels, surgeons will no longer be bound by borders. Wherever the patient is, the surgeon will reach there.” Thus, this is not just technology, but the beginning of a healthcare revolution in India.
