World Head & Neck Cancer day - 2025

In lieu of the upcoming world Head & Neck Cancer day on 27^th of July Sri Aurobindo College of Dentistry organised an awareness programme in which Dr Jayshree Tapadia, Dean Student Welfare,SAU, Dr Kanteshwari IK, Dean, Dental College, Dr Geeti Vazdi Mitra- Director PG studies, Dr Sandesh N - HoD Community Dentistry graced the inauguration session and spoke about the importance of WHNCD.
Dr Dilip Kumar Acharya, National Chairman, IMA Cancer & Tobacco Control Committee was the Guest speaker, who highlighted the signs & symptoms, risk factors of Head & Neck Cancers. He stressed on the need for Tobacco & Areca Nut control with Alcohol in moderation for prevention from Head & Neck Squamous Cell Cancers. He showed many pictures of oral pre-cancerous lesions and shared tobacco quitting methods. The talk was well appreciated & Q& A session followed.
Dr Shradha Jaiswal, HOD Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology & microbiology also spoke about the pathological & diagnostic criteria for the disease. The programme was attended by Faculty, PG & Interns.
