Quit Tobacco: Why and How – A Powerful Awareness Session at SAMC & PGI
The Department of Psychiatry, in collaboration with the Tobacco Cessation Centre at Sri Aurobindo Medical College and PG Institute, Indore, organized a thought-provoking awareness session on tobacco cessation.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Dilip Kumar Acharya, National Chairman – IMA Cancer & Tobacco Control Committee, who shared vital insights on the dangers of tobacco and effective strategies to quit.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Jayashree Tapadia (Dean – Student Welfare), Dr. Ajit Deshpande (Professor & Head, Community Medicine), and Dr. Srikanth Reddy (Professor & Head, Psychiatry & Nodal Officer, TCC), who shared their thoughts and motivated students.
The program also included a certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing the winners of the One-Minute Tobacco Quiz, poster competition, and skit participants, celebrating student creativity and commitment to health awareness.
The session concluded with a warm vote of thanks by Dr. Apurva Tiwari, Assistant Professor & In-charge, Tobacco Cessation Centre.
