Celebrating World Orthodontic Health Day 2024.
The Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics at Sri Aurobindo College of Dentistry, Indore, marked a significant milestone on May 15th by commemorating World Orthodontic Health Day. This special occasion honors the signing of the WFO's charter in 1995, a pivotal moment in promoting and celebrating the orthodontic specialty worldwide.
Under the theme "Changing Lives One Smile at a Time," our program aimed to raise awareness about orthodontics and overall dental health, especially among children and the general public. It was a remarkable gathering that brought together students, faculty, and dental professionals to underscore the importance of orthodontics in dental care.
We were honored to have Dr. Kanteshwari I.K., Principal of Sri Aurobindo College of Dentistry, Indore, as our esteemed chief guest. Dr. Ashish Garg, Professor & HOD of the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, warmly welcomed Dr. Kanteshwari I.K. and highlighted the crucial role of specialized orthodontic treatment in enhancing dental health.
Our event saw active participation from interns, postgraduate students, faculties, and respected HODs from other departments, contributing to its tremendous success. Postgraduate students engaged in various competitions proposed by the Indian Orthodontic Society, including an Orthodontic Awareness IOS video that played throughout the week in our OPD area, creating awareness among children and the general public.
Additionally, participants showcased their talents through competitions like rangoli making, themed around the essence of our program, and the Best Adams Clasp Wire Bending competition, demonstrating precision and skill in orthodontic techniques.
Overall, the program was a resounding success, thanks to the enthusiastic involvement of students, staff, and faculty members from all departments. We're proud to have fostered greater awareness about orthodontics and received appreciation from all quarters.
