World Oral Health Day 2024

On March 20, 2024, the Department of Periodontics at Sri Aurobindo College of Dentistry organized a commemoration of World Oral Health Day in collaboration with Abbott Pharmaceuticals. The focal point of the event was a lecture facilitated by Dr. Ankita Tyagi, a prominent Periodontologist, who delved into the crucial topic of doctor-patient communication in the realm of dentistry.

The lecture drew a substantial audience, with a total of 100 participants in attendance, including faculty members, postgraduate students, interns, and undergraduate students. This diverse gathering underscored the importance and relevance of effective communication between healthcare providers and patients in ensuring optimal oral health outcomes.

The day commenced with a warm welcome speech from Dr. Kanteshwari I.K, the Dean and Head of the Department, emphasizing the significance of oral health in our daily lives. She also honoured the guest speaker with a sapling, symbolizing growth and prosperity. Further Dr. Rajesh Kumar proceeded with the session, introduced the esteemed guest speaker for the day, Dr. Ankita Tyagi, who would share her expertise on the subject matter.

The lecture conducted focused on the aspects of patient convincing and the interaction between the doctor and the patient. In the talk the major highlights were establishing good patient doctor rapport, affects of communication outcomes, benefits of good personal accomplishments and how communication is necessary in formulating an effective diagnosis. The entire lecture was very informative and well appreciated by everyone.

The event was concluded with a Thank you note from Dr. Kanteshwari I.K. ma’am who appreciated the event and made everybody understand the importance of interaction with the patient.
