Sri Aurobindo College of Dentistry, SAU, celebrated National Periodontist day

Department of Periodontics, Sri Aurobindo College of Dentistry, celebrated National Periodontist day on 23/02/2024. Post graduate students of the department planned a fun-fillled day for Undergraduates and Interns.

The day started with a welcome speech by Dean and Head of the Department Dr Kanteshwari IK mam. She highlighted the aspects of Periodontology in a very engaging way. Various activities were planned for students including Quiz sessions, Dumb Charades about Periodontal terminologies and Gloves art making creatives depicting some periodontal aspect.

It was followed by Prize distribution, cake cutting and refreshments for all. A total of 48 students and faculties participated in the event and made this day a huge success.

Focusing on the theme of “Say No to bleeding gums” , around 100 patients were evaluated for their oral hygiene status and were educated for maintaining their oral health as a part of improving systemic health also.

The event concluded with a Thank you note from Dr S V Dodapkar Sir who also highlighted the role of Periodontist in maintaining general oral health of an individual. Together all faculties encouraged students to understand the importance of the branch in this vast field of dentistry.
