Sri Aurobindo University Supports Advanced Cancer Care at MY Hospital, Indore
A new development in advanced healthcare infrastructure took place in Indore on 18 October 2026, with the inauguration of a modern PET-CT Scan Centre and Tele Command Centre at the New Cancer Hospital Block of M.Y. Hospital. The initiative has been established through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the Government of Madhya Pradesh and Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS).
The inauguration was attended by Dr. Mohan Yadav, Honble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, along with public representatives, senior government officials, medical professionals, administrators and students from the medical community.
For Sri Aurobindo University, the initiative represents the practical coming together of medical knowledge, technology and institutional collaboration. Advanced facilities such as PET-CT have an important place in contemporary cancer care, supporting clinicians in understanding disease progression, planning treatment and assessing how a patient responds to therapy. Making such technology available within a public healthcare setting can also contribute to strengthening the overall healthcare ecosystem.
The newly inaugurated Tele Command Centre adds another dimension to this effort. By using digital connectivity to link healthcare services and medical expertise, it reflects the growing role of technology in making specialist knowledge available beyond conventional hospital settings.
The occasion was also attended by senior members of the Sri Aurobindo Group, including Dr. Vinod Bhandari, Founder Chairman Dr. Manjushree Bhandari, Chancellor Dr. Mohit Bhandari, Pro-Chancellor and Dr. Mahak Bhandari, Pro-Chancellor.
The development is part of a wider effort to expand advanced medical infrastructure across Madhya Pradesh. Plans for similar PET-CT centres in Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Rewa, along with the proposed robotic surgery centre at M.Y. Hospital, further underline the state’s focus on strengthening specialised healthcare.
Through such collaborations, Sri Aurobindo University continues to contribute to the intersection of healthcare, technology, education and community service, supporting a more capable and connected healthcare system for the future.
