Instructions for candidates

• All the applicants who have qualified the entrance examination and including those who were exempted from the entrance examination shall have to appear in the interview for admission in Ph.D. The interview shall be conducted by the college doctoral committee (CDC) of the concerned subject. CDC interview schedule for different subjects will be announced shortly on the website. Please visit website regularly.
• The candidates are instructed to present with filled candidate information form on the day of interview. Candidate information form is available on Click Here
• The candidates are expected to bring the Consent form from the proposed Supervisor and Co-supervisor (if applicable). Tentative list of supervisors are already available on the website.
• In-service/employed candidates are instructed to bring No objection certificate from the institution/organization duly signed by head of the institute/organization. The format of NOC certificate is given in Click Here
• Candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area before CDC. This can be in form of audiovisual presentation or discussion alone. The committee shall evaluate the research potential of the candidate, ingenuity of research and suitability of research center through direct interaction with the candidates.
• Ph.D. course seats distribution: 33% seats from the total available seats for that particular Academic Year shall be kept reserved for the qualified and eligible approved in-service teacher candidates and remaining seats shall be available for other candidates, who have passed the Entrance Test. In case there are no eligible candidates after the Entrance Test and the seats remains vacant, the seats will be reverted to in service candidates. Similarly, if In-Service Candidates seats remain vacant, they can be available for other candidates.
• The evaluation in interview will be based on the following criteria (25 Marks each)
  • (i) Research plan
  • (ii) Research potential/ aptitude
  • (iii) Communication skills
  • (iv) Subject knowledge in the respective area of research.
  a) 70% weightage of Entrance test marks and 30 % weightage of interview marks be given in preparing merit list for those candidates who got through PhD entrance examination 2022. b) For exempted candidates, 100 percent weightage will be given to interview marks.
