Department of Psychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry at SAMC & PGI, Indore has been providing its services for over 15 years.
Our clinical services extend to patients of various strata from the city and surrounding rural areas, as well as patients from states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, UP, etc. and involve the diagnosis and management of various mental and behavioral disorders including illnesses like- Depression, Bipolar Mood Disorder, Schizophrenia, Anxiety Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, Personality Disorders, Sexual dysfunction, Sleep Disorders, Childhood disorders (like Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability), etc.
We provide Outpatient services, 24×7 Emergency Services, Inpatient services comprising of 40 beds with separate male and female wards, Electroconvulsive Therapy, Ketamine Therapy, Deaddiction, Liaison Consultation, Psychometric evaluation (including IQ assessment, Personality Assessment, Projective Testing) and psychological intervention for various psychiatric conditions. In addition, the Department runs specialty OPDs which include- Geriatric Clinic, Deaddiction Clinic, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic, and Sexual Disorders.
The department has been providing Post Graduation training (for M.D. Psychiatry) for the last 10 years. We also provide Undergraduate training for M.B.B.S, B.P.T, B.O.T and nursing students.
The Department is actively involved in research as well as mental awareness programs like Mental Health and wellbeing, Suicide Prevention, Childhood disorders, stress prevention, preventive psychology, etc.
