Department of Physiology

Physiology is the study of how organ systems work in a human body. With an excellent infrastructure our departments conducts various intra and inter departmental teaching activities. Aim is to make the students understand the fundamental and basic concepts concerning with mechanisms in Physiology.

Our department has well equipped lecture hall. We have fully equipped Amphibian laboratories, Hematology lab, Human and clinical physiology lab to serve the teaching and research needs of both students and faculty.

Amphibian Lab

Our department is conducting foundation course from past 2 years, which include the following:
  • English classes
  • Computer classes
  • Sports and extra-curricular activities to improve their strength and immunity
  • Community visits
  • They are taught how to study effectively in a medical college
  • They are introduced to health care systems and its delivery, through hospital rounds and at the same time introduced to alternative health systems
  • Stress and time management
  • They are taught medical ethics, professionalism and duties as doctors.
  • They are given training in first aid, patient safety and biohazard safety.

Clinical Lab

Our department is further planning to incorporate other activities for the new coming batches such as
  • Nukadd Nataks on some common physiological conditions
  • Demonstration of neuro diagnostic tests such as BERA (Brain Stem Evoked Response Audiometry), Nerve conduction studies, visual evoked potentials.
  • Other activities-

  • With skill lab under our department, this year onwards regular hands on training on mannequins will be given to students from various fields.

Students interested in taking on ICMR projects are also given all the help they require on the subject.
