Department of Pharmacology
Established in the year 2003, located at 3rd floor of SAMC & PGI. Department has well trained faculty staff with state of art infrastructure.
Objectives:
- To provide the knowledge of pharmacology to medical and allied stream under SAU.
- To develop a competent graduates who can prescribe and dispense medicines, safely and effectively
- To stimulate the basic and clinical research knowledge to strengthen the rationale use of medicines.
- To implement professional services to the community through pharmacovigilance, therapeutic drug monitoring, prescription audit, generic drug use.
Departmental contributions since inception
- Faculty is an integral part of Medical Education Training.
- Conducted CMEs, conference of national and international grade
- Training of faculty and paramedical staff for ADR reporting.
- Interdisciplinary research with governmental organizations like ICMR, AIIMS.
- Numerous researches with publication in NMC recognized journal.
- “Management of Medications” for NABH of hospitals.
