Department of Pharmacology

Established in the year 2003, located at 3rd floor of SAMC & PGI. Department has well trained faculty staff with state of art infrastructure.

Objectives:
  • To provide the knowledge of pharmacology to medical and allied stream under SAU.
  • To develop a competent graduates who can prescribe and dispense medicines, safely and effectively
  • To stimulate the basic and clinical research knowledge to strengthen the rationale use of medicines.
  • To implement professional services to the community through pharmacovigilance, therapeutic drug monitoring, prescription audit, generic drug use.


Departmental contributions since inception
  • Faculty is an integral part of Medical Education Training.
  • Conducted CMEs, conference of national and international grade
  • Training of faculty and paramedical staff for ADR reporting.
  • Interdisciplinary research with governmental organizations like ICMR, AIIMS.
  • Numerous researches with publication in NMC recognized journal.
  • “Management of Medications” for NABH of hospitals.
