Department of Gastroenterology

Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences, SAMC and PGI Indore was established in the year 2011. The department is headed by Dr. (Prof.) Mohd. Talha Noor, who is an alumnus of PGIMER Chandigarh. He has a vast experience of teaching and has various national and international publications to his name.

The Department of Gastroenterology is fully equipped with all the modern amenities to provide high level of care to the people of this region. A wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography (ERCP) and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) are performed in department. In addition department carries out extensive research work related to the field of Gastroenterology.

The department runs both the outpatient and inpatient facilities. A large number of patients get benefitted by the daily OPD services. Patients requiring admission for the management of their diseases are given IPD services wherein most of the Gastrointestinal, Pancreatic and Hepatobiliary related problems are managed as per the latest guidelines.

The department runs a superspecialty course for the last 11 years, being the only center in the state to do so. Alumni of the department are doing excellent job in various parts of India including some premier institutes as well as abroad.
