With this vision the Biochemistry department is working to create a center of excellence for teaching, research, Laboratory services in both routine and specialized tests. We inculcate in our students the concept of Quality assurance and Good laboratory practices
Departmental objectives
- To provide health science (Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, nursing and other paramedical) students with clinically relevant knowledge of the biochemical basis of physiology and disease conditions using various innovative, interactive teaching and learning methods.
- To carry out high quality research in clinical Biochemistry, Newborn screening, genetics and medical education with inter departmental collaboration.
- To provide efficient and effective laboratory interpretative support. keeping in mind the need for IMG to be globally relevant.
Practical Lab
The department of Biochemistry has all ‘state-of-the-art’ teaching facilities with well-equipped lecture halls, audio visual aids, and other resources for UG, PG training. Our Department has Clinical laboratory with latest world class, high end technologies. Department has a well-designed protocol for Early Clinical exposure, through models and charts and real scenario case reports and clinical lab visits The department has excellent teaching faculty (trained in medical education) and is known for their student-friendly methods of teaching.
Apart from imparting medical education to undergraduate students of various Medical, Dental and Para-Medical courses, the department is recognized by the National Medical Council of India to impart education to post-graduate students who specialize in the subject of Biochemistry
