Prosthodontics is the dental specialty that treats patients with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues to obtain optimal oral health function, comfort, appearance, and health of a patient with the use of biocompatible substitutes through proper diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance.

The department manages all patients requiring moderate to complex oral rehabilitative treatments. In addition, the department also encourages scholarly activities through faculty and students research.

The mission of the Department of Prosthodontics is to achieve academic excellence and professionalism in the art and science of Prosthetic dentistry through educational programs, clinical training, and research projects, in addition to rendering comprehensive Prosthodontics treatment.

The vision of the department is to continue serving the dental profession and the community by providing the undergraduate and graduate candidates with the continued advancement of knowledge through basic and clinical research and incorporation of cutting-edge technology into our patient treatment and curriculum.

  • Goals

To provide basic & advanced education in Prosthodontics for an improved understanding of prosthetic rehabilitation & restoration of tooth structures.

To increase cognitive skill in the management of geriatric & general patients.

To transform the nature of dental education and practice in ways that will dramatically improve the way we serve our students, our patients & the surrounding community.
