Oral Medicine and Radiology is the specialty that focuses the diagnosis and medical management of complex diagnostic and medical disorders affecting the mouth and jaws.

Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology is the specialty of dentistry concerned with the diagnostic imaging and interpretation of the craniofacial, dental and adjacent structures.

Imaging modalities in the department are fully digitalized and well equipped with state of the art facilities including PSP, RVG, OPG machine and CBCT machine-the latest in maxillofacial radiology.

The department offers training in Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses apart from being actively involved in various scientific research activities.

Students are trained how to interact directly with the patients and learn firsthand about the management of behavioral issues and patients’ fear in a dental set up. This specialty also deals with risk assessment and clinical diagnosis, conventional and newer non-surgical treatment modalities of common and uncommon oral health problems including oral mucosal diseases, salivary gland disorders, TMJ disorders, potentially premalignant and malignant disorders, facial pain syndromes and also provide special dental care for patients with underlying medical conditions witnessed in different age groups while also keeping in mind the protocol and procedures, like infection control.

Our goal is to ensure that students must be knowledgeable observant and equipped to participate and excel in diagnosis as well as treatment of oral diseases.
