National Constitution Day at SAU- 2024
Sri Aurobindo Institute of Law celebrated National Constitution Day, also known as Law Day, on 26th November 2024, with great enthusiasm and participation from the students of the B.A. LL.B (Hons.) & LL.B (Hons.) program. The event was organized to honor the adoption of the Constitution of India and to reaffirm the commitment to its values and principles.
The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a speech by Prof.(Dr.) Rajiv Kumar Jain, Dean & Director, emphasizing the importance of the Constitution as the backbone of Indian democracy. A preamble-reading ceremony was conducted, where students and faculty collectively recited the Preamble of the Constitution to renew their dedication to constitutional values.
A lively debate competition was held on the topic: “implementation of Reservation policies in India” Participants showcased their oratory skills and critical thinking while presenting diverse perspectives on the judicial doctrine's implications for constitutional stability and flexibility. Harshima Joshi, Pari Tiwari, Krishna Agarwal, Sahil Kasyap & Abhishek Yadav participated in the debate competition.
The speech competition was centered on the theme: “Role of the Constitution in Safeguarding Fundamental Rights.” Students delivered passionate speeches highlighting the Constitution's role in ensuring equality, liberty, and justice for all citizens. Their performances reflected a deep understanding of constitutional principles and legal intricacies. Pragati Rathore, Surbhi Shrivastava, varsha Rathore, Aditya Vajpayee & Hijam Jhalbiya Devi participated in speech competition.
To combine creativity with awareness, a poster-making competition was organized with the theme: “The Spirit of the Constitution.” The students showcased their artistic talent through vibrant and thought-provoking visuals, depicting the significance of the Constitution in India's journey as a democratic republic. Neha Patel, Sweety Devi, Prachi Shrivastva, Nirmala, Amisha Karma, Divyansh Gurjar, Ashwini Chouhan, Mahak Vishwakarma, Shraddha Lodhi, Anamika Yadav & Dashrath Nalwaya participated in poster-making competition.
