SAU organized White Coat Ceremony for the Batch 2023-24

The prestigious Sri Aurobindo Institute Of Medical Sciences recently, hosted its annual White Coat Ceremony, a momentous event that symbolizes the transition of students from the study of preclinical to clinical health sciences. The ceremony took place on Saturday, 23 September 2023 at C.P. Tiwari Auditorium.
The invigorating presence of our Dean Student Welfare, Respected Dr. Jaishree Tapadia Ma’am, was the reason for the white coat ceremony for MBBS and BDS batch 21 to turn into reality. Her enthusiasm bolstered courage in everyone present for the ceremony and encouraged not only students but parents as well to embark upon this new journey with a smile. Ma’am and her team were the working hands behind the event’s colossal success.
The event was graced by Dr Achyuta Samanta, Lok Sabha MP and Founder of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, who served as our chief guest. The event began with a heartfelt greeting directed at him, which was followed by Dr Vinod Bhandari, Dr Mahak Bhandari, and Dr Jyoti Bindal. Following the lamp-lighting, each guest was given a sapling as a gift. Dr Jaishree Tapadia gave a welcome address and presented our distinguished speaker, Dr Achyuta Samanta. She commended Dr. Samanta's achievements, notably his founding of the Kalinga Institute of Social Studies, the first university dedicated to offering free education to tribal students. Dr. Samanta has received over 50 awards for his contributions, including one from our country's President, Ram Nath Kovind. The speech concluded with students, guests, and faculty members giving Dr. Samanta a standing ovation for his tremendous efforts.
Dr. Mahak Bhandari was then invited to give a speech in which he introduced Dr. Samanta and the parents to the University. Dr. Mahek Bhandari introduced Dr. Samanta to Sri Aurobindo University's core management and provided him information about the campus, hostels, and courses offered. During his address, he described how Aurobindo uses cutting-edge technology to provide excellent healthcare and disease diagnosis using the latest and most advanced machines. This allows them to detect diseases at an early stage, resulting in a better prognosis.
Dr. Mohit Bhandari gave us an insight into Dr. Samanta's life, including how he lost his father at the age of four, cared for his siblings, and still managed to fulfill his goals, which displays his unwavering commitment.
Dr. Vinod Bhandari had a similar encounter with Dr. Samanta during his visit to Kalinga Institute, which left him touched and inspired.
Dr. Manjushree Bhandari emphasized the significance of the white coat through her speech,
Dr. Samanta began his speech by expressing his sincere gratitude for the university atmosphere and the love he was given. He quoted the phrase "Money, money, money, brighter than the sun, sweeter than honey" to show how money is currently driving the society.
Following the chief guest's address, the students were called onto the stage to receive their pristine white coats. Each student took an oath to become a doctor who is honest, true, empathic, and ethical, and who will uphold these values in all circumstances.
Lastly, Dr Kanteshwari IK ma’am presented the vote of thanks.
As the children walked on stage and received their white coats, their parents were filled with pride.
The diligence and assistance of the university administration helped to make our white coat ceremony a memorable success.
