The comprehensive dental care unit of department caters to the basic dental treatment needs of patients referred from outreach and community programs.

The undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the department aims to develop proficiency among students to explore oral health status, understand health needs, community diagnosis, public health policy and to develop community based interventions for the prevention of oral diseases.

The dental outreach program provides students to reach the unreached communities and expand their professional competencies to gain experience in working at variety of clinical and community settings.

The department provides an excellent opportunity for the community to benefit and also making the students proficient in rendering dental care through mobile dental van, portable dental equipment’s, peripheral centers, adopted schools, adopted villages, linkages with health centers at rural areas, prisons and disabled population.

The associated departmental establishment like Tobacco Cessation center, Dental Museum and Counseling room equipped with audiovisual aids and patient health education materials focus on the prevention, motivation and promotion of skills required towards healthy oral health practices.
